Hair Colour: The Ultimate Fashion Accessory June 16, 2026 14:35

Your Hair Colour Called. It Wants a Winter Wardrobe Too.

Every year, right about now, something strange happens, the linen shirts disappear, the boots come out, the coats return from the back of the wardrobe.
Suddenly everyone is embracing winter.
Everyone, that is, except their hair.

For some reason we happily update our clothes with the seasons but expect our hair colour to keep doing the same thing it was doing six months ago.
Imagine wearing the exact same outfit every day for a year.
Sounds ridiculous, right?

Yet many of us are walking around with a colour that was designed for a completely different season, a different haircut, a different version of ourselves, or in some cases, a different Prime Minister.

Which is why I think it's time we stop thinking about hair colour as something we do to cover greys and start thinking about it for what it really is:
"The Ultimate Fashion Accessory"

Unlike a handbag, it comes with you everywhere.
Unlike shoes, people actually notice it.
And unlike that expensive jacket hanging in your wardrobe waiting for "the right occasion", you get to wear it every single day.

Hair Colour Isn't Maintenance. It's Styling.
One of the biggest misconceptions about hair colour is that its job is simply to maintain what you already have. Cover the greys. Touch up the roots. See you again in six weeks.

But great colour does so much more than that.
It can make your eyes look brighter. It can make your skin look more radiant. It can add dimension, movement and texture to a haircut. It can make fine hair look richer and thicker. It can soften features, create contrast, add drama or make you look like you've just come back from a holiday you definitely didn't take.
That's not maintenance.
That's styling.

The Mousey Blonde Glow-Up
Let's start with one of our favourite transformations.
A lovely natural blonde that has become a little... well... beige. Not bad, not wrong, just a bit forgettable. The colour equivalent of plain toast.
Now introduce a few strategically placed balayage pieces, some brighter ribbons around the face and a glossy toner to tie everything together.
Suddenly the whole look changes...the haircut looks better, the skin looks brighter, the eyes stand out more, and people start asking if you've done something different.
You have.
You've accessorised.

The Brunette Upgrade
Brunettes often get overlooked in conversations about colours which is a tragedy because some of the most beautiful colour transformations happen on brown hair.
A rich chocolate base with soft chestnut highlights around the face can completely transform how light reflects off the hair.

It's subtle enough that nobody immediately says, "You've coloured your hair."
Instead they say: "You look really well."
Which, if we're honest, is the superior compliment.

Winter Is Made For Richness, Summer is all about brightness.

Winter is where colour gets interesting.
Think espresso instead of latte, cashmere instead of cotton.
Red wine instead of sauvignon blanc.
Winter colour is richer, deeper and more luxurious.
Glossy brunettes, Creamy blondes, Velvety coppers, Expensive-looking reds.
The kind of colour that looks incredible against a black coat and somehow makes your morning coffee feel more sophisticated.

Grey Hair Has Entered The Chat

Now before anyone thinks I'm suggesting we all run screaming from our grey hair, let's clear something up.
Grey hair isn't the enemy...In fact, some of the most beautiful colour work we do involves embracing grey rather than hiding it.
Silver. Pearl. Champagne. Smoky beige.
These aren't colours we used to talk about twenty years ago.
Now they're some of the most sought-after shades in the salon.
The goal isn't necessarily to cover grey..."Grey Blending" has become one of our most requested services
The goal is to make whatever colour you're wearing look intentional.
Because there's a big difference between "I've given up" and "I chose this."

If Your Wardrobe Gets A Seasonal Update...Maybe Your Hair Should Too.

Not because you need a dramatic transformation, not because you're having a crisis and definitely not because we're trying to convince you that everyone needs balayage.

But because colour should be fun.
It should reflect who you are now.
And sometimes the smallest change can make the biggest difference.
A few lighter pieces, a richer gloss,  warmer tone, a brighter frame around the face.
The hair equivalent of buying the perfect winter coat...only better...because you get to wear it every day.
