MADÉ: Jewellery with a Story

Designed by Jennifer Morgan of Morgan & Morgan The Hair Collective

At Morgan & Morgan The Hair Collective, creativity has always lived beyond the salon chair. Hair, fashion, personal style and self-expression are part of the same conversation. MADÉ jewellery is a natural extension of that philosophy.

Designed and handcrafted by salon owner Jennifer Morgan, the MADÉ collection brings together her love of travel, fashion, storytelling and the unique cultural landscape of Aotearoa New Zealand. Each piece is created with the same intention that guides the salon itself: thoughtful design, strong materials, and a sense of individuality that feels personal to the wearer.

Where the Story Begins

Jennifer’s life has always been shaped by creativity. As a hairdresser and salon owner for more than two decades, she has spent years observing the way women use style to express identity. Jewellery, much like hair, has the power to transform an outfit, shift a mood, or mark a moment in time.

MADÉ grew from this understanding.

Inspired by journeys through Europe, Asia and the Americas, the collection blends global influences with the grounded beauty of home. You will see references to modern street fashion alongside natural materials and forms that echo the landscapes of Aotearoa.

Some pieces carry the strength of stainless steel chains that feel architectural and modern. Others feature gemstones, pearls or pounamu that connect more deeply to nature and place. The contrast between these elements is intentional. Soft and strong. Industrial and organic. Contemporary and timeless.

Crafted for Real Life

Every MADÉ piece is designed to be worn, not stored away.

Jennifer works primarily with 304 stainless steel for its durability, longevity and resistance to tarnishing. These are pieces made for everyday life. Jewellery that can be worn with a simple T-shirt during the day or layered with evening wear when the occasion calls for something bolder.

The aim is versatility. Jewellery that moves easily between moods, outfits and environments.

Some designs lean playful, like the colourful Candy Rush necklace with its resin charms. Others are bold statement pieces featuring pounamu or dramatic chains that sit confidently against the body. And many sit somewhere in between, quietly elevating an everyday look.

Inspired by Aotearoa

While MADÉ is influenced by travel and global fashion, its heart remains firmly rooted in New Zealand.

Several designs incorporate pounamu sourced from riverbeds on the West Coast of the South Island. Each stone carries its own colour, character and markings shaped by the landscape over time. No two pieces are identical.

These elements reflect Jennifer’s respect for the cultural and natural significance of the materials used, acknowledging pounamu as a taonga within Aotearoa.

The result is jewellery that feels grounded in place while still speaking a modern design language.

Jewellery as Personal Expression

MADÉ is not about following trends. It is about building a collection of pieces that feel meaningful and individual.

Some people choose jewellery for symbolism. Others choose it simply because it makes them feel strong, beautiful or interesting. Both approaches are welcome here.

Jennifer designs with the belief that jewellery should carry personality. Something a little unexpected. A detail that sparks conversation. A piece that becomes part of someone’s personal story.

From the Salon to the Studio

For clients of Morgan & Morgan, MADÉ feels like a natural evolution of the salon’s creative world. The same eye for detail, craftsmanship and fashion that shapes the work behind the chair now extends into jewellery design.

Hair may be the finishing touch to an outfit, but jewellery often becomes the signature.

MADÉ brings those two worlds together.

Discover the Collection

The MADÉ collection continues to evolve as Jennifer designs new pieces inspired by travel, materials and the people around her. Each necklace is produced in small runs or as individual pieces, giving the collection a sense of discovery rather than mass production.

Because great style is never just one thing.
Sometimes it begins with a haircut.
Sometimes with a piece of jewellery.
And sometimes with a story you choose to wear.
