BEAUTY HACKS: EASIER MAKE-UP APPLICATION

Whether you’re a make-up novice or a beauty pro, listen up!

We’ve found six time-saving tips to make your everyday routine easier, AND your make-up last even longer.

1. ACE THE FLICK

For easier liquid or gel liner application, hold a compact mirror below your chin and look down into it with your eyes without dipping your head. Your eyes will feel half closed. This way your lashes are out of the way, you can see the lash line more clearly, its more comfortable on the arm with no awkward leaning into the bathroom mirror or pulling at your eyelid.

TRY: Dr. Hauschka Liquid Eyeliner, $45

2. KEEP IT CLEAN

For the perfect even lip line, use a lip liner first. If you need a little fix up, you can touch up around the edges with some concealer on a small brush, this will give you a clean line as well as stop lipstick from bleeding.

TRY: Revlon ColorStay Lipliner, $25.50

3. BEAUTIFUL BLUSH

Accidentally applied 80’s blusher? Blend the lines out by taking some mineral powder foundation on a kabuki or buffer brush. By using circular motions you can easily buff the edges out for a softer finish, and you can also try sweeping some of the powder over the top of the blush to tone it down.

TRY: Clarins Ever Matte Mineral Powder Compact, $68

4. MULTI-USAGE

If you don’t have any makeup remover, you can use a little bit of moisturiser on a cotton bud. Clean up mishaps like eyeshadow drop down and smudged mascara. T

5. MESS FREE MAKE-UP

Try doing your eye make-up before applying your foundation. This means you can wipe away eyeshadow fallout easily from the skin, keeping a clean perfect looking base. Just make sure you still apply foundation or an eye primer to the lids before starting the eyes, as it will stop the shadows slipping.

6. EYES MADE EASY

If you’re a novice at applying fake lashes, apply glue across the lash line very close to the lashes instead of putting glue on the strip lash. You can then leave the glue for about 15 seconds to get tacky, then apply the fake lashes. This prevents you from getting glue all over your lid and ruining your eye make-up.
