Are you planning a get-together with friends and need some ideas for drink recipes?

A little off the subject of hair…but I feel passionately about the importance of being to make a great cocktail, so if you need a few ideas…you’ve come to the right place!

I hunted down (and tested out) a few popular and delicious drink recipes for you and your friends to enjoy.

Woo Woo

60ml vodka

15ml peach schnapps

Lime wedge

Cranberry juice

Ice cubes

Half fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Squeeze in lime, then add the vodka and schnapps. Shake, then strain into an old-fashioned glass half filled with ice. Add the squeezed lime wedge and top up with cranberry juice.

Espresso Martini

45ml White Rum

30ml Espresso (or any other coffee)

15ml sugar syrup

Shake all the ingredients in a shaker with ice and strain into a

martini glass, or over ice in your jar of choice.

Angel Food Cake

15ml Vanilla Vodka

15ml Amaretto

1 splash Cranberry Juice

1 splash Pineapple Juice

Mix together over ice and shake until frothy. Strain into shot glass.

Lemon Drop Martini

45ml Vodka

25ml Lemon Juice

15ml Triple Sec

1 tsp Superfine Sugar

Mix the vodka, triple sec, sugar and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker half filled with ice cubes. Shake well to make sure sugar is blended. Pour strained liquor into a sugar-rimmed martini glass and garnish with a twisted peel of lemon.

Beer-ita

Sounds terrible…tastes great

300ml limeade concentrate

180ml tequila

3 cans beer

Ice

1 lime, cut into wedges

Pour limeade, tequila, water, and beer into a large pitcher. Stir until well blended and limeade has melted. Add plenty of ice, and garnish with lime wedges. Adjust with additional water, if needed.

Bellini

15ml peach liqueur

30ml peach juice or nectar

Chilled champagne or sparkling wine

Pour liqueur and juice into a chilled champagne flute. Slowly top up with champagne or sparkling wine.

Bahama Mama

15ml Malibu

15ml Kahlúa

15ml each dark and white rums

Pineapple juice

Pineapple wedge

Mint sprig

Ice cubes

Crushed ice

Half fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Add the Malibu, Kahlúa, and rums. Shake vigorously and strain into a highball glass half filled with crushed ice. Top off with juice; garnish with pineapple wedge and mint.

Mojito

60ml white rum

8 mint leaves

Half a lime, chopped

15ml sugar syrup; club soda

Ice cubes

Mash up mint, lime, and sugar syrup in a cocktail shaker. Add a scoop of ice, then the rum. Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled tumbler 1 inch from the rim; top up with club soda.

Shampoo

15ml gin

15ml lemon juice

Dash of Pernod

Dash of blue curaçao

Chilled champagne or sparkling wine

Lemon Twist

Pour gin, then lemon juice, Pernod, and blue curaçao into a chilled champagne flute. Slowly top up with champagne or sparkling wine; garnish with a twist of lemon.

Ginger Shandy

3 bottle(s) chilled Hoegaarden beer

1 bottle chilled ginger beer

1 thinly sliced lemon

Mint sprigs, for garnish

In a large pitcher, combine Hoegaarden with ginger beer. Stir in most lemon slices and mint sprigs. Fill 6 rocks glasses with ice. Add remaining lemon slices to glasses and pour in shandy. Garnish each drink with a mint sprig and serve.

Pomegranate Daiquiris

150ml pomegranate juice

70ml plain light rum

70ml cassis or cranberry liqueur

15ml fresh lime juice

Ice cubes

Pomegranate seeds, frozen green grapes, or kiwi slices, for garnishCombine pomegranate juice, rum, cassis, and lime juice. In a blender, combine juice mixture and ice cubes. Blend until slushy. Pour into large martini or wine glasses; garnish as desired. Repeat with remaining juice.

The Classic Margarita

45ml tequila

15ml Triple Sec

30ml fresh lime or lemon juice

Salt (optional)

Shake all ingredients with cracked ice. Use the fruit rind to moisten the rim of the glass, then spin the glass around upside down in salt to salt the rim. Strain the cocktail mix into the glass. You can also serve it over the rocks.
